Aloe Vera is a hardy outdoor and indoor plant that takes about 3-4 years to mature fully. Here’s how you can grow this plant indoors:

• Plant your Aloe in a terracotta pot with either a regular potting soil or cactus potting soil mix. Keep filling the soil until there is a gap of 3/4th inches left between the top of the soil and the rim of the pot.
• Do not water your plant immediately and just leave it as it is for some time now. Once you have planted your plant, do not water it for at least a week. This devoid the plant of time to put out new roots.
• Place it in a bright, sunny and warm place that receives enough but indirect sunlight. It is best to keep them in South or West-facing windows.
• Water it heavily once in two weeks until the soil dries out completely. Just ensure that your planter has plenty of drainage holes as Aloe Vera plants cannot stand excess water.

To make your plant survive and thrive, water it properly. The soil should be bone dry before being watered. Allow the water to drain. When it comes to fertilizing, aloe vera generally doesn’t need to be fertilized. But if you want to, you can add fertilizer to the plant once a year in the spring season.
